USHolidays.org is a resource to help Americans bring meaning, ritual, and reflection to our nation’s holidays.  The website offers readings, songs, discussion questions, recipes, and simple ceremonies for Independence Day and more than a dozen other U.S. holidays.

This project is the creation of Ian Ayres, the Oscar M. Ruebhausen Professor at Yale Law School a Professor at Yale’s School of Management, and a Professor in Yale’s School of Public Health.

USHolidays.org grew out of a simple idea: that gathering with family and friends to read, sing, and reflect together can deepen our connection to each other and to our shared civic traditions.  Whether you have five minutes before a meal or want to build a full family ritual, we hope this website helps you “practice being American.”
